In this segment B&E’s Founder Dennis Zahrbock presents tactics for uncommon follow through on financial commitments.
I want to talk about uncommon follow. When was the last time you thought, hey I am going to do the least amount I can do on this project? Would you partner with a firm that does the very least? Of course not, you want a partner that always does the most they can do. A great friend and longtime client often leaves our meetings by stating “it’s the least I can do,” followed by “and I always do the least.” He then winks and says how much he appreciates working with us who operates exactly the opposite.
We have clients that have been confused and frustrated by an unwillingness from other professionals to do the simple things to make the process easier for them. They have been sent a form that needs to be filled out with information already communicated multiple times to their advisor. We take the simple step to complete everything we know to save clients time. We deliver what we consider “common service” but have discovered it is “uncommon” to most. We live and practice these four principles: being on time…doing what we say we will…doing it when we said we would… and never forgetting our please and thank you’s.
If you were to look at your emails right now, do you have dozens or hundreds of unread messages? I know we’re all busy and can be difficult to track down. But we know clients need a little push to move forward in planning for their future. A client recently saved thousands of dollars in taxes and repositioned their assets for greater comfort in their financial future. But not without uncommon follow through from us. We understand the noisy world we live in today and take an approach with uncommon follow through to ensure our clients resources are allocated in ways that help them get the best return on life. We are here to cut through that clutter and are committed to helping clients stay accountable for their financial commitments… but we may need to send a reminder or two!
